The fabric has been pre-washed and pre-shrunk, but bamboo may continue to shrink a tiny bit more. To avoid more shrinkage, you may want to wash in cool water and tumble-dry medium. Bamboo fabric (like all natural plant fibers) will increase in absorbency after it has been washed 5-10 times to remove the natural oils. Small amounts of bleach may be used when necessary. Choose a scent-free detergent and avoid all fabric softeners and dryer sheets. These chemicals coat absorbent fibers and make your towels and wipes less absorbent. They also pollute the air in your home and neighborhood. Yuck!\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eWhy Bamboo?\u003cbr\u003eBamboo fiber is so soft and silky, it is like a cross between cotton and silk. It is more absorbent than cotton. It also has anti-microbial properties which fight mildew and other germs. It is eco-friendly to grow as you can produce a lot of bamboo quickly in a small area. Unlike conventional cotton, it is not a pesticide hog.
